The summer season is upon us!

June 21st is the first official day of summer and not only are we making sure our bodies are nice and fit, we are impatiently waiting for a cool, refreshing cocktail (with a little umbrella inside) accompanied by a relaxing beach-side view!

It’s that time of year for barbecues, pool parties and all kinds of fun in the sun!

Kids love summer, but the adults have to know how to get creative, too!

Hanging with some girlfriends, we decided to plan a little get-together for an upcoming weekend. So we did the usual…

“Who’s bringing the food?”

“Who’s bringing the juice boxes and water?”

“Who’s bringing the games?”

And once the delegations were given, I was left with nothing to bring! Sent home with an empty to-do list, I decided to think of something to bring for the grown-ups.

I hit the pavements of Pinterest and came up with the grand idea of making Sangria– and boy was it a hit! It was the perfect summer recipe!

Here’s the ticket:

  • Your fave wine – red or white (I actually made two – one red, one white)
  • 20 oz bottle of Mango Fanta
  • A can of frozen juice concentrate (Welch’s Strawberry Breeze)
  • A can of sliced pineapples in pineapple juice (entire can, including the juice)
  • A sliced peach
  • A bag of frozen fruit (I used strawberries and blueberries)

Pour all of the ingredients (pictured below) into a pitcher and set to chill for about 2 hours.

And the result?

Soooooo good! If you can’t wait to indulge, go ahead and get to it- it’ll already be cold from the frozen ingredients, so no ice needed!

Oh, yeah- you’re welcome.

Now off to take over the neighborhood pool in my new swimsuit! Sometimes you have to grab the summer by the handle and ride! Life is for the living friends and that’s the way the Cookie crumbles!

Cheers!
