“Excuse me?”

My exact thoughts when I read the title of this book.

As I pondered, while looking at the ceiling, invisible thought bubbles started to surround me of…” who, what, when, where, why and how.”

The title caught you off guard, too, I’m sure. But, as I read the 6-page intro, I took an immediate understanding of what the title meant. And this book will catch the curiosity of both men and women.

I’ll be damned if my husband was in “need” of three women. There will be hell to pay I tell ya!

Every Man Need Three Women, or EMNTW, written by Christian rap artist, Delbert “Ras” Harris and his good friend (30+ years) Larry C. Davis.

Harris, a married man of twenty years with children, and Davis, a player-player from the Himalayas, co-authored this book based on ongoing, table-talk conversations about theoretical thoughts about relationships.

Davis believes relationships are on a 3-tier type of thing, hence every man need three women. Harris, on the other end, believe Davis’ theory has yet to be…proven. Harris also believes a woman in a relationship can incorporate all three traits. This healthy conversation (or shall we say debate?) has been going on for many years and now it has been captured in a book format.

Whether married or single, you will be sure to take away some relevant points from this self-help introductory guide, and you even discover something about yourself you didn’t know:

  • What “type”(keyword) of woman are you in a relationship?
  • What’s your “position” in a relationship?
  • How far does your tolerance level extend?

Allow me to take you back to 1993 with lyrics from 90’s group, Xscape, still-talked-about song, “Just Kickin It.”

Every man wants a woman where him and her can just go hang
Just the two of them alone, kick back, doing their own thang
And every man wants a woman that can always keep him in the mood
And I’m that kind of girl so this is what I tell my dude…

And every man wants a woman
That ain’t good for just lying on her back
And I’m that kind of woman
So before me and my man get in the sack

After reading this 86-page book (which I read in about two hours, I was in deep curiosity after the introduction), it was revealed to me exactly what those lyrics meant to me as a once-before single and now-married woman. I’ll let you figure out the relation when you read the book.

One on One with the Author

Some of you, like me, maybe wondering…

who was the brainchild of this book?

…and why did they decide to write it?

Well, I come with answers. I reached out to one of the co-authors, Delbert Harris, for an answer and here is what he had to say:

Harris: Larry always felt it was a book. It was probably within the last two years that we both decided this had to be a book. Larry felt what he was going through as a player, he needed three women each to be as the numbers in the book. But, as we thought about it, me, personally, I saw that what’s every man need, even if it was the same woman.

Check out some chills-feels quotes from the book on the next page:
